Our congregation helps those in need in Crewe and further afield, working closely with the other churches in our town.
Together with a number of local organizations, we collect food for our Crewe food bank, St Paul’s Pantry. Individuals and families in crisis are referred to St Paul’s Pantry, where they will be given 3 days’ worth of food. If you would like to help you can leave food that will keep and is well within its ‘best before’ date at the church.
For several years we have provided a warm night’s sleep for homeless men during the winter in our church hall. This has been another joint church project. From 2017 we participated with other churches in providing meals and night shelter staffing at the YMCA.
We also show our concern for people in desperate poverty around the world by supporting the work of Christian Aid, which works with local communities to help Christians and non-Christians alike.
Churches Together in Crewe (CTiC) is the ecumenical body representing most of the Christian Churches of our town. Member Churches of CTiC are committed to working together to share the Christian faith in the town, and have signed a Covenant together. The Covenant is an agreement to work together with other churches on projects and plans wherever possible.
In this spirit we join with other churches to witness to Crewe about the world-changing love of God. You may see members of our congregation taking part in the Passion Play before Easter or in the Nativity Scenes around Crewe before Christmas.
A Churches Together team makes Christmas and Easter presentations for primary school children in Crewe to help them understand why these times are so special for Christians.
